U.S. Stocks Extend Rally to 5th Week, the Longest in 11 Months |
Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- The rally in U.S. stocks extended to a fifth week, the longest such streak in 11 months, as earnings from energy companies, including Exxon Mobil Corp., beat analysts' estimates.
Financial shares rose as Franklin Resources Inc., the manager of the Franklin and Templeton mutual funds, reported higher net income. Goldman Sachs Group Inc., the most profitable securities firm in Wall Street history, climbed after netting a paper gain of almost $5 billion from its investment in a Hong Kong initial public offering. |
